Final Forms Student Online Registration
We are very excited to announce that the Tacoma Public Schools Athletic Department has partnered with Final Forms, an online forms and data management service. Final Forms allows you to complete and sign athletic participation forms for your students. The most exciting news is that Final Forms saves data from season-to-season and year-to-year, meaning that you will never need to enter the same information twice! Final Forms also pre-populates information wherever possible, for each of your students, saving you time. You may review your data at any time to verify it is current. You will be required to sign your forms once per year and after any update.
This is the registration process for ALL ATHLETES, regardless of Running Start, Homeschool, Private School or Alternative School enrollment. However, you will need to complete the relevant Running Start, Homeschool/Private School/Alternative forms within Final Forms online registration.
SAMI/SOTA/IDEA Students, you need to contact the Silas Athletic Director prior to online registration. This does not roll over in the Final Forms system and must be done annually.
In order to register you must confirm your account using the link provided in the Final Forms email. If you did not receive an email from Final Forms or the link has expired, please contact the Silas Athletic's Department at SilasAthletics@tacoma.k12.wa.us
Final Forms Troubleshooting
Silas Athletics receives emails from students and parents needing help with various issues related to logging into their Final Forms accounts. Unfortunately, we do not have a list of usernames and passwords or a way to reset passwords. However, here is a list of what may be causing issues and possible resolutions:
- TPS (eSP) & Final Forms are not communicating.
- Tacoma Public School students must use their school email for Final Forms. If you (student) have changed your HAC contact email to a personal address (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), you need to change it back to your assigned school email address.
- The student has never logged into Final Forms.
- The student will need to confirm their account. Students need to login to their Office 365 account (same username and password needed to login to a school computer). Once confirmed, athletes should go to Outlook email where they will find their Final Forms Account confirmation link. If they cannot find the email, the Athletic Director can resend a link to confirm their account.
- Parent has never logged into Final Forms.
- They need to confirm their account. Parents should search their email for a Final Forms confirmation email. If parents cannot locate their confirmation email, they will need to contact the building Athletic Director to confirm the email address Tacoma Public Schools has is correct. We can then resend a confirmation email.
- Parent or athlete have logged in but forgot their password.
- Please use the “Forgot your Password” feature on the Final Forms login page.
If the parent does not have a valid email in eSchoolPlus (HAC) there will not be an account for the student. Parents need to update their email with the school’s Registrar and the Athletic Director.
Homeschooled, Private School, Alternative Education students will need to have an account created for them. Please contact the Athletic Department at SilasAthletics@tacoma.k12.wa.us

March 27th - 31st, 2023
This week in athletics:
Here this week’s edition (Week of March 27th) of This Week in Silas Athletics.
News:
Baseball: The Boys have lost their last two games both against top notch programs, Curtis and Enumclaw. Both schools advanced to Regional Round of the WIAA State Baseball Championships last year. The Regional Round in Baseball is similar to the State Quarter-Finals. They played Curtis tight losing 6 to 5. They has a tougher outing against the Hornets, losing 12 to 0.
Overall, Baseball has a 2 win 3 loss record. They hope to get back to .500 when they play at Peninsula later this afternoon. The task doesn’t get any easier though, as Peninsula also advanced to the Regional Round last year.
The JV Boys hope to get into the win column later today when they host the Peninsula Seahawks here at Silas Baseball Field. They opened their season last Friday (after a couple of rainouts) with a loss to Curtis. On Tuesday, they lost to Enumclaw.
Softball: The Girls had a 3 win - 2 loss week. They defeated Steilacoom, Stadium, and Kentlake and lost a double header to Tahoma. Overall, they are 4 -3 on the season. They are tied for first with Bonney Lake (each with 1 – 0 league records) in the Pierce County League after their 16 to 10 win against Stadium on Tuesday.
The JV Girls had their first game of the season last Tuesday, defeating the Stadium Tigers 18 to 7.
Girls Tennis: No results to share this week as the match against Lakes this week got rained out. Next week they have three matches that include the re-scheduled match against Lakes on Monday (here at Silas), at Spanaway Lake on Tuesday, and a home match against Lincoln on Thursday.
Girls Water Polo: Last Tuesday the Rams lost to the Stadium Tigers 18 to 3. Next week they have two matches. A home (Foss Pool) match against South Kitsap and a match at the Puyallup Vikings.
Boys Soccer: The Boys Soccer teams are off to a very strong start. The Varsity has started the season with a 3-0-1 record. Last week they tied perennial soccer powerhouse Stadium. This week they defeated the defending 4A Boys Soccer Champions, the Bellarmine Prep Lions, 2 to 1. Last night, they beat the Lakes Lancers 6 to 0. Tonight, they host the Woodinville Falcons here at Silas Soccer Field.
The JV Soccer team is also on a roll with an undefeated record of 4-0-0. On Tuesday, they dominated the Bellarmine Prep Lions 5 to 0. Yesterday they beat the Lakes lancers 13 to 0. In their four victories, the Rams have outscored their opponents 29 to 2. Tonight they host the Woodinville Falcons JV.
Track & Field: Nothing to report on Track and Field this week. No meets were on the schedule this past week. Next Wednesday they travel to Art Crate Field in Spanaway Lake to participate in a three team meet that includes Silas, Spanaway Lake, and Lincoln.

Dr. Dolores Silas Rams - Official Athletic Website – Tacoma, WA (goramstacoma.com)
April 3rd - 7th, 2023
Here is April 3rd edition of This Week in Silas Athletics. This is Spring Break week, meaning a reduced number of athletic events are taking place this week.
News:
Baseball: Both the Varsity and JV Baseball teams had a 2-1 record this past week. Both lost to Peninsula last Friday and each swept the Lakes Lancers in a home and home series this week. The Varsity results are highlighted by Gavin Yoder’s complete game shutout of Lakes on Tuesday. He gave up only three hits in the game. That is a spectacular effort at any level! Nice work Gavin!
Overall, the Varsity record is 4 wins and 4 losses. In Pierce County League play, our Rams are 4-0 and currently sit in 2nd place in the PCL.
The JV Boys broke into the win column this week with their two wins against Lakes. Overall, their record is 2 wins and 3 losses. The exciting thing about their efforts this week is that their bats came alive, scoring 26 runs in their two wins this week.
Unlike, most sports during Spring Break, Baseball has a full schedule next week. Each squad will be playing three games, a home and home series against Spanaway Lake and a non-league game against Highline Pirates on Thursday. The games on Thursday start earlier than normal. The JV game starts at 10:00 AM and the Varsity game starts at 1:00 PM.
Softball: The Girls had a 2 win - 1 loss week, defeating Lakes twice in a home and home series and losing to Peninsula. The varsity has an overall record of 6 wins and 4 losses and a 3 win No loss records in the PCL. They are tied for 1st place with Bonney Lake!
The JV Girls had a 1 win - 1 loss week, defeating Lakes and losing to Peninsula. For the season, the JV girls have posted a 2 win 1 loss record.
The Girls do not have any games scheduled next week.
Girls Tennis: The Girls have had a great week. On Monday they defeated Lakes 3 to 2. The Rams were led by our Doubles teams comprised of Reese Ward/Sammy Caron, Gabby Staley/Ava Epperson, and Drue Brotman/Kate Souse who each won their matches. On Tuesday, the Rams shut out the Spanaway Lake Sentinels 5 to 0. Our doubles teams all won their matches in addition to our singles players (Izzy Mock and Anatasiia Shuliak) each winning their matches in straight sets.
The Girls do not have any matches scheduled next week.
Girls Water Polo: The Girls had a very nice win against South Kitsap on Monday. On Wednesday, they were short-handed and lost to the Puyallup Vikings. Overall, the Girls have a 1 win 3 loss record.
The Girls next match isn’t until April 17th when they travel to Auburn to take on the Auburn Riverside Ravens.
Boys Soccer: The Boys Soccer teams continue their strong play this season. The Varsity team had a 3-0-0 week with impressive wins against perennial power the 4A Woodinville Falcons and blew out the undefeated Lincoln Abes. Both victories were by shutouts. The Varsity has an overall record of 6-0-1 and a league record of 3-0-1 which puts them in first place in the PCL with a ½ game lead over the Lincoln Abes.
From the Way Too Early Department: According to MaxPreps, the Silas Rams are ranked #2 in the State in 3A Boys Soccer behind Shorewood. A couple of points to keep in mind, MaxPreps is only as good as the information supplied by the teams. Some teams do a good job of suppling information, others are not. At best it is incomplete. Currently, it is the only poll available. Other polling sources have not begun their rankings for the season.
The JV teams also continues to shine. They also had a 3-0-0 week, with wins over Woodinville, Spanaway lake, and Lincoln. They outscored their opponents 20 to 2 this past week.
Track & Field: The Rams traveled to Spanaway on Wednesday to compete in a three-team meet against Spanaway Lake and Lincoln. A number of outstanding personal performances and first-place outcomes were achieved. Please see the results section below.

April 10th - 14th, 2023
Here is the Post-Spring Break (April 10th) edition of This Week in Silas Athletics. Most of the action last week centered around our Baseball and Boys Soccer teams.
The biggest news of the week was Wyatt Stevens selection as an Athlete of the Week by the WIAA. Here is the write up about Wyatt on the WIAA website:
WYATT STEVENS
Silas Soccer (SO)
Sophomore Wyatt Stevens started the season on varsity but was struggling to score from the wing position. Last Tuesday, the coaches moved him to JV for a game to gain some confidence. He netted a hat-trick and had a hat-trick of assists. Two days later, he swung half JV and half varsity, where he scored a second half hat-trick in a 8-0 win over undefeated Lincoln. Then, Friday night he played full varsity and tallied another hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Bonney Lake. A hat-trick of hat-tricks for the Rams' sophomore.

News:
Baseball: Despite the weather and multiple changes in venues and/or start times, both our Varsity and JV teams got three games in this past week. Even better, each team had a 3 – 0 record for the week.
Last week, the Varsity beat the Spanaway Lake Sentinels twice in a double-header and beat the Highline Pirates in a non-league contest. Overall, the Varsity record is 7 wins and 4 losses. In Pierce County League play, our Rams are 6-0 and currently sit in 2nd place in the PCL. They are a ½ game behind Bonney Lake, who has an 8-1 record. Because of our erratic weather, we have teams throughout the league with a disparity of games played.

Girls Tennis: Silas had two matches this week. On Tuesday, our Girls lost to the Mount Tahoma T-Birds 4 – 1 in a highly competitive match. The final score does not reflect how close this match really was. Thursday, they dispatched the Bonney Lake Panthers 4 - 1. The Rams won each of their matches in straight sets, with the exception of the #1 singles match. Izzy Mock lost a heartbreaker in this 3 set match.
Our #2 Doubles Team of Ava Epperson and Gabby Staley remain undefeated this season with their win against Bonney Lake!
Next week, the Stadium Tigers come to Silas to take on our Rams.
Girls Water Polo: Water polo had no matches this last week. Their next match is scheduled for Monday, April 17th when they travel to Auburn to take on the Auburn Riverside Ravens.
Boys Soccer: Soccer only had one match this past week, but it was a biggie. Last Tuesday, the Rams squared off against crosstown rival the Stadium Tigers. As many of you are aware, Stadium has a very strong soccer program, and for many years, have been perennial league champions. Well, as they say, There’s a new sheriff in town!
Earlier in the season, the Tigers tied the Rams 1 – 1 in their match at Stadium Bowl. So far, that tie is the only game the Rams have not won outright this year. On Tuesday, in convincing fashion, our Rams defeated Stadium 3 – 0.
From the People are Paying Attention Department: If you have access to the Tacoma News Tribune, they published an article about the Stadium game and also have an article detailing photos of the game. Here the link to their High School Sports page: Tacoma WA High School Sports News | Tacoma News Tribune (thenewstribune.com).
You will find the articles are you scroll down the page.
The JV team continued their undefeated season by beating Stadium 4 – 3. The JV record this season is an outstanding 10-0-0.
In the WIAA RPI rankings for Boys Soccer, Silas moved up one spot this week. Currently, they are now ranked 6th in the State in the 3A classification. This week the Rams have just one match, hosting the Stadium Tigers here at Silas on Tuesday.

They have a second match tomorrow, but the details are a bit up in the air. Our educated guess is that this match starts at Noon (12:00 PM), also at Fife High School, against an opponent that has yet to be determined.
Track & Field: Last Wednesday, our Rams traveled to Bonney Lake to compete in a three team meet against the Panthers and the Lincoln Abes. In this meet, the Rams had seven 1st place finishes and ten 2nd place finishers. Also, our tracksters had 24 personal records set, an extraordinary number!

April 24th - 28th, 2023
Hey, its Friday, which means another edition of This Week in Silas Athletics. This time for the week of April 24. Believe it or not, the regular season for Spring Sports is starting to wrap up. If you have not taken the opportunity to watch our teams play, depending on the sport there is only a week or two left to catch regular season action.
News:
Baseball: Our Baseball teams continued their strong play. This week the Varsity team swept Mount Tahoma with two victories. The JV team also secured a win against the T-Birds.
Overall, the Rams have a record of 11 wins and 4 losses. They have a PCL record of 10 wins and 0 losses, placing them in 1stplace in the PCL. Currently, our Rams are listed 27th in the State in the 3A Baseball RPI standings by the WIAA.
The JV team is also on a roll. After losing their first three games of the season, they have bounced back with seven consecutive wins. Overall, they have a record of 7 wins and 3 losses.
Next week, Silas is scheduled to play a home and home series against the Bonney Lake Panthers. This series could go a long ways in determining the PCL regular season champion. They also have a game on April 28th against Thomas Jefferson. The JV team is even busier with five games scheduled over the next seven days.

This was their first league loss this season. Overall, the Rams have a 7 win 5 loss record and a 4 win and 1 loss record in PCL play. They currently stand in 2nd place in the PCL, 2 games behind the Bonney Lake Panthers. In the WIAA RPI rankings, Silas is ranked 41st in 3A Softball.
The JV Girls improved their record to 4 wins and 1 loss with a 15 to 6 victory over Lakes last Wednesday.

Girls Tennis: Not much to report on this week. Their match scheduled against Stadium earlier this week got rained out.
Next week, our Rams have matches against Lakes and Spanaway Lake.
Girls Water Polo: Water polo had a 0 – 2 week. On Monday, they lost a tight match to Auburn Riverside 12 – 9. This match was close throughout and was determined by a couple of breaks that did not go our way. On Wednesday, they had an identical outcome, losing to the Lancers 12 to 9.
Next week, our Rams play Stadium (@ Mount Tahoma Pool onMonday, April 24th). They travel to Rogers High School next Friday (April 28th) to participate in a multi-team tournament.
Boys Soccer: Our Boys Soccer Teams continue to excel this season. The Varsity defeated Lakes 4 to 0 last Tuesday and yesterday beat Spanaway Lake 7 to 1. Don’t be fooled by the last score. Silas had a 3 – 1 lead with 20 minutes left in the game. Then they on a four goal tear to close out the game.
Overall, their record is 11 – 0 – 1. Fun facts: The Varsity has won eight of their 12 games via a shut-out. They have scored 46goals in 12 games and only have given up a grand total of four 4goals all season. That’s pretty good!
The JV team also continues their outstanding play be defeating Lakes 8 – 0 and defeating Spanaway Lake 12 to 0. The JV record this season is an outstanding 12-0-0. More Fun Facts: The Varsity stats are very impressive. But the JV stats are even more impressive! The JV Team has scored a total of 87 goalsand given up only 7 goals in their 12 games this season.
In the WIAA RPI rankings for Boys Soccer, Silas is ranked 6th in the State in the 3A classification. This week the Rams have two matches. Next Tuesday they play at Lincoln, and Thursday they play Mount Tahoma in their final home match of the season.

May 1st - 5th, 2023
Welcome to the May 1st edition of This Week in Silas Athletics. The regular season for all of our Spring Sports wraps up next week, with the exception of Girls Tennis. As we get closer to the end of the regular season, this edition also provides the latest and greatest on postseason play.
News:
Baseball: A bit of a tough week for the Rams. The Varsity got swept by the Bonney Lake Panthers in their home and home series this week. Both games were tightly contested as Bonney Lake pulled the two wins by a total of three runs.
Overall, the Rams have a record of 11 wins and 6 losses. They have a PCL record of 10 wins and 2 losses, placing them in a three tie for 1st place in the PCL, with Bonney Lake and Stadium. Currently, our Rams are listed 31st in the State in the 3A Baseball RPI standings by the WIAA.
The JV team had a mixed week. They swept the Stadium Tigers in a doubleheader last Saturday but got swept by the Bonney Lake Panthers in their home and home series earlier this week. Overall, the JV Team has a record of 9 wins and 5 losses. In PCL play, they have a record of 7 wins and 2 losses.
Varsity Baseball will wrap up their regular season on Monday, May 1st. Today, they host the Thomas Jefferson Raiders. On Monday, they travel to Bellarmine Prep to take on the Lions.
The JV Team will also wrap up their season next week. They have three games left on the schedule with a home and home series against the Clover Park Timberwolves and a game against Bellarmine Prep.

West Central Districts: Our Rams have qualified for the West Central District Baseball Tournament. At this point, because of the 3-way tie for 1st place, we do not know if Silas will be the #1 seed from the Pierce County League, the #2 seed or the #3 seed. One possibility will be using the RPI in some capacity. As of today, Stadium is ranked 22nd, Silas 31st, and Bonney Lake 42nd.
What we do know is that first-round games will be held on Tuesday, May 9th at the home of the higher seed. The #1 seed from the PCL will play a home game against the #2 seed from the North Puget Sound League (Kentlake). The #2 seed from the PCL will play at the #1 seed from the North Puget Sound League (Tahoma). The #3 seed from the PCL will play a home game against the #3 seed from the Greater St. Helen’s League (either Mountain View or Evergreen).
Fastpitch - Softball: Our Fastpitch - Softball Team had a great week this week with three victories against Mount Tahoma, Spanaway Lake, and Lincoln. Currently, our Rams have an overall record of 10 wins and 5 losses and a PCL records of 7 wins and 1 loss. In the WIAA’s RPI rankings, Silas moved up a remarkable 11 spots this week and are currently ranked 30th in 3A Fastpitch - Softball.
The JV Team also had a great week with three wins. They improved their season record to 7 wins and 1 loss.
Over the next seven days, the Fastpitch – Softball Team has four games on the schedule before they wrap their regular season.

Girls Tennis: Girls Tennis lost their two matches this week, both by a score of 4 to 1. Our Double’s Team of Ava Epperson and gabby Staley got the lone victory against Lakes, maintaining their undefeated record in league play. In their match against Stadium, the Rams got a double’s victory from Kate Shouse and Claire Mock who played in their first Varsity match.
Next week, our Rams have a very busy schedule with three matches. The West Central District Tennis Tournament is scheduled to start on Friday, May 19th.
Girls Water Polo: A quiet week for our Rams this week, as they had no matches this week.
Next week, our Rams play Stadium (@ Mount Tahoma Pool on Monday, April 24th). They travel to Rogers High School next Friday (April 28th) to participate in a multi-team tournament.
Boys Soccer: Our Boys Soccer Teams continue their strong showing this season with two wins this week against Lincoln and Mount Tahoma.

May 15 - 19th, 2023
Welcome to the May 15th edition of This Week in Silas Athletics. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a lot to share this week.
News:
Baseball: The West Central District/Southwest Washington District Baseball Tournament started on Tuesday. Our Rams were victorious in their 1st round game, defeating the Kentlake Falcons 6 to 5.
The Rams fell behind early 1-0. But their bats came alive and opened up a 6-1 lead. But, as good teams do, Kent-Meridian mounted a comeback, ultimately, falling late to the Rams by 1. Gavin Yoder picked up the win going 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings of work. Caleb Wenz got the save pitching the last two innings giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits. He struck out 4. Offensively, the Rams were led by Ronny Schilling who went 2 for 2, with 2 RBIs and a stolen base. Hayden Luhring had the big hit of the game with a 2 RBI single. He went 1 for 1 in the game while drawing 3 walks and scoring once.
With the win, our Rams advance to the District 3/4 Semi-Final Game! They play the Stadium Tigers on Saturday, May 13th at Auburn High School. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 AM. Win or lose they will play two games on the 13th.
Fastpitch - Softball: Our Fastpitch - Softball Team finished their regular season on Wednesday with a 10-0 loss against the Bonney Lake Panthers.
The Rams finished their season with an overall record of 11 wins and 8 losses. They had an 8 win 3 loss record in the Pierce County League, finishing in third place. They will advance to the West central District/Southwest Washington District 3/4 Fastpitch Tournament next week, as the #3 seed from the PCL.
The JV Team also concluded their season this week with an 11-1 loss to the Bonney Lake Panthers. Overall, the JV team had 9 wins with just 2 losses.

West Central Districts Fastpitch-Softball: The District Fastpitch-Softball Tournament is scheduled to start on Thursday, May 18th. Our Rams will play the #3 seed from the South Sound Conference which looks to be the Timberline Blazers. Whoever ultimately is the #3 seed from the SSC, they will host this first-round game in this winner advance, loser out contest. More to come on finalizing this game, location, and time of first pitch.
Girls Tennis: Girls Tennis is finishing the season strong! They beat Bonney Lake 3-2 on Tuesday. Both our doubles teams excelled in their matches, by winning in straight sets. On Wednesday, they completed their match against the Mount Tahoma T-Birds, losing a very close match 3-2.
Yesterday, the Pierce County League Tennis Championships began at Mount Tahoma. Our Doubles Team of Sammy Caron and Reese Ward came from behind to win their match to advance to today’s Semi-Final match. The good news is they have qualified to participate in next week’s West central District Tournament.
Next week, our Rams close out their regular season with three more matches against Lincoln, Peninsula, and Mount Tahoma. Later in the week, the PCL Tennis Tournament begins.
West Central Districts - Girls Tennis: The WCD Tennis Tournament is scheduled to start on Friday, May 19th at the Boeing Employees Tennis Center in Kent.
Girls Water Polo: The Girls Water Polo Team ended their season on a high note. Monday, they lost their match against the Rogers Rams 9 to 7. Our Rams were extremely competitive in this match. Trailing by one late in the match, they pushed forward hard offensively to try and get the tying goal. Of course, when you do this, you can be vulnerable to being scored on which is what happened, giving Rogers the 2 goal victory. Wednesday, they defeated the South Kitsap Wolves 10-0. In their arguably best game of the season, the Rams dominated from start to finish.
Boys Soccer: Our Rams have played in three games this week in the West Central District/Southwest Washington District Boys Soccer Tournament. On Saturday, May 6th our Rams advanced to the Semi-Finals game by defeating the Auburn Riverside Ravens 2-1 in a shootout. On Tuesday, in the Semi-Finals they beat the Stadium Tigers 1-0.
Last night, they lost to the Gig Harbor Tides 1-0 in the District Championship game. They will advance to the WIAA State 3A Boys Soccer Championships as the #2 seed from the District.
WIAA State Tournament Championships – Boys Soccer: Seeding for the State Boys Soccer Tournament will take place shortly. Until that occurs, we will not know the date, time, or opponent. We will be sharing the details once they are available. Here is the link to the WIAA bracket: https://www.wpanetwork.com/m2/tourn.php?act=vt&tid=3933
Track & Field: Yesterday, our Rams participated in Day 1 of the Pierce County League Track and Field Championships. The top five finishers and those meeting qualification marks will advance to next week’s West Central District/Southwest Washington Track and Field Championships.

Welcome to the May 22nd edition of This Week in Silas Athletics. This past week has been filled with post-season play in all sports. The week of May 22nd marks the last athletic competition for the 2022-2023 school year.
News:
Baseball: In the past week, our Rams played two games in the West Central District/Southwest Washington Bi-District Baseball Championships and one game in the WIAA Gesa Credit Union State Baseball Championships.
Last Saturday, our Rams played in the Semi-Finals of the District Baseball Tournament, losing to the Stadium Tigers 5-0. Later that same day, they beat the Gig Harbor Tides 4-3 to capture 3rd place in Districts. They entered the WIAA Gesa Credit Union State Baseball Championships as the #3 seed from Districts.
The Rams Opening Round Game in State saw them travel to Monroe to take on the Bearcats last Tuesday evening. This was a winner advance/loser our game. Unfortunately, for our Rams, they were on the wrong side of a 6-1 score. With the loss, Silas was eliminated from the State Tournament.
Please congratulate coach Barron Tanay and the Silas Rams Baseball team for an outstanding season as Co-Champions of the Pierce County League, a 3rd Place finish in Districts, and for advancing to the WIAA State Baseball Championship Tournament!
Fastpitch - Softball: Yesterday, our Rams Fastpitch Softball Team competed in the opening rounds of the West Central District/Southwest Washington Bi-District Fastpitch Softball Championships. This is a double-elimination tournament. In their opening round game, the Timberline Blazers beat our Rams 13-3.
With the loss, our Rams dropped into the loser’s bracket to play the Auburn Riverside Ravens in a winner advance loser out game. Unfortunately, our Rams were eliminated by a score of 12-2.
Please congratulate coach Earl Davis and the Silas Rams Fastpitch Softball team on a very nice season highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the Pierce County League and advancement to the District Championship Tournament.
Boys Soccer: Our Rams play their first match in the WIAA Gesa Credit Union State Soccer Championships this evening. Technically, it is a 2nd round game, as they received an opening round bye. They play the Southridge Suns (Kennewick) at Edmonds-Woodway High School. This is a winner advances/loser out match.
If the Rams are victorious tonight, they will play the winner of the Mead/Edmonds Woodway match tomorrow.
Track & Field: On Wednesday, our Rams participated in Day 1 of the West Central District/Southwest Washington Bi-District 3 & 4 Track and Field Championships. In the events staged on Wednesday, Silas had six qualifiers advance to next week’s WIAA Gesa Credit Union State Track and Field Meet. Today, Day 2 of the District meet will take place at French Field at Kent Meridian High School. Where hopefully, Silas will have more entrants going to the State Meet next week.
The Rams had some fantastic performances on Wednesday, led by Addison Kelly who was crowned District Champion in the 3A Girls Triple Jump. Turns out that the Triple Jump is a Silas specialty. Conner Meade finished 5th in the 3A Boys Triple Jump and Ahnalyse Glenn-Leufroy finished 6th in the 3A Girls Triple Jump.
Dominick Dirton has been one of the best sprinters in the State of Washington all season. He had a very strong 100 Meter Dash performance in the District Meet, finishing in 2nd place. The Boys 4x100 Meter Relay Team also had a great outing, finishing strongly in 4th place. Railee Hutton qualified for State by having her best 400 meter run ever. She set a personal record time of 1:01.65.
Here are the details of those advancing to State from Wednesday’s Day 1 track meet:
